R/C Fliers of Venice
General Meeting May 9, 2001

President Allen Wilder called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM
Officers and directors present were Allen Wilder, Bob Shapiro, Bob Ring , Ed Gandorf, Ernie Schrimpe, and El Paufve
There were two "snowbird" visitors: Jim Nelson and Lee Easter. Both indicated an interest in joining when they return in the Fall.
Treasurers report by Ernie Schrimpe was read and accepted.
Minutes were referenced as printed in the Scramble Sheet. No additions or corrections were offered

Directors Reports:
Ed Gandorf: Beware of the black wire syndrom burned out high flex wires. Ken Obeshaw has had a kidney removed. Send cards, dont call or visit.
He presented three plaques for points in the seasons Tuesday Fun Flies.
The winners were Bill Welle 3rd with 59 points, Howie Burch 2nd with 62 and Paul Simpson 1st with 70 points.
Bob Ring: Receipts for shirts and caps were $42. On the subject of a better sprinkler system, he reported his scheme would cover 52K of the 55K sq ft of thegrass runway area. A discussion was held as to whether we should do this ourselves or get a professional advice and quotations. The latter was recommended. While digging we should put an underground electrical cable between the shed (once moved) and the field house.

Allen Wilder: He requested suggestions for possible improvements to the field. Following lengthy discussion a number of suggestions were made. These included: lengthen runway (Chuck Duke), sun shelters (Bob Shapiro), moving the shed (Bob Ring), solar powered weather station (Bob Shapiro), FPL electric power (Bill Crisafilli), parking lot extension (Warren Mumma and Chuck Duke), runway sealing (Chuck Duke) and diagonal grass runways (no name).
Chuck Duke agreed to lead a team to do the runway sealing; volunteers were solicited to help but no date was set.
Old Business: None was reported.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM.

Respectfully submitted, El Paufve, secy.

The June meeting is scheduled for June 13, 2001
