| R/C Fliers of Venice General Meeting, January 10, 2001 President Frank Alfanso opened the meeting at 7:05 PM Officers present were: Frank Alfanso, Al Wilder and El Paufve Directors present were Ed Gandorf, and Bob Ring New and Prospective members present were Lance Milco, John Dayne, Tim Kane, Bill Cristofele and Tom Cummings The Minutes were read, corrected and accepted The Treasurers report was read by Al Wilder and accepted. Al then announced that the IMAA meet that he would be in charge of would be held Feb 24 Director's reports: Ed Gandorf reported that the SAM contest had been winded out, but that last Tuesdays's electric sailplane contest was great. That in spite of clouds and no sun there was lots of thermal activity. Winners were Bill Welle, Bill Willenbaker and of course, himself. He offered that there would be three nearby SAM meets in February and March. Next Tuesday our contest is the High Start sailplanes. Bob Ring reported that there was no activity with the Library. Ed Gandorf offered some model-making hints. Aquanet Hairspray was good on balsa prior to Monocoat, and that he had tested Krylon Acrylic to be fuel proof. Rustoleum was also mentioned, but it was only good if the fuel was wiped off soon Frank Alfanso reported that Shirts and Hats were in and available. He also made the sad announcement that Jim Turner had died. Old Business: Bud Christman announced that he and Lowell Wellke had gone over the financial books and found them to be in order. The cell phone that was mentioned last week is at the field and available for emergency use only on 911. Just plug it into the car's electrical outlet and dial. Bob Shapiro offered to withdraw his November motion that we be host field for an IMAC competion late in April. Frank suggested that the motion be opened for discussion. After lengthy discussion and a show of hands of those willing to help, the motion was put to a vote and passed. Election of officers: Al Wilder offered the proposed slate and opened nominations Al Wilder for President; no others offered. The secretary submitted a single vote George Vaughan for Vice President, Bob Shapiro's name was then added. Ballots were cast and Bob Shapiro is the new VP Ernie Schrimpe for Treasurer, no others offered. The secretary offered one vote. Ed Gandorf or Dean Solie for Director, Chuck Duke's name was added. Ballots were cast and Ed Gandorf was re-elected as Director. A standing vote of thanks was offered to Frank Alfonso for his service as President.
