General Meeting, February 14, 2001

President Al Wilder called the meeting to order at 7:PM
Officers and Directors present were: Al Wilder, Bob Shapiro, Ken Obeshaw,
Bob Ring, Ed Gandorf, and El Paufve. Ernie Schrimpe was absent
Visitors and New Members present were: Bill Butler and Tom Cummings
Minutes: The reading was cancelled due to being printed in the Scramble Sheet. Corrections offered: Ken Obeshaw rather than Ed Gandorf will see to moving the work shed. Accepted as corrected
Treasurer's report, Given by Ken Obeshaw, Accepted
Director's Reports:
Ed Gandorf :
A Swap Shop will be held Sat Feb 17. Open at 8:30 or 9. There will be coffee and donuts, but no hot dogs.
Contests: Two successful Tuesday contests were held, the Elecric Gliders and the Electric SAM's
Next Tuesday will be the High Start Gliders and the following Tuesday, Gas SAM's and Texaco
Additional competions: 2/28 Cape Coral, 3/3 Brandon and 3/7and 8 Bradenton
Bob Ring: Described the plan for the underground sprinkler system covering a total of 55000 square feet.
Ken Obeshaw: Safety matters OK. Please watch that prop. Never move it by hand with the glow plug lit.
Bob Shapiro: IMAC show - Sport Aerobatics March 31, April 1. needs helpers. Categories with (volunteers): Registration (Bob and Chuck), Gate (J Smith, Jack D ,Roger) Scribe and Runners ( ? ), Scorekeeper (ElPaufve), Freq Control (Don Ertel),
Food (Ken Obeshaw)
Al Wilder: IMAA meet Feb 24.
New Business
Field Problems: Ken Obeshaw reported two "hits" within 15 minutes which downed two students planes. (channels 45 and 51)
Bob Shapiro requested that we record radio hits. A comment was made that there is some harmonic relation between certain channels, and if a crystal is changed improperly the transmitter frequency can be all over the band.

Show and Tell Bob Ring showed a miniaturegasoline motor and several steam engines which he has made from scratch.
A beautifully made, but uncovered 100 inch wingspan Stinson Reliant kit was shown (for sale?)
